The Elgoni Foundation has officially launched a community health awareness campaign aimed at improving public knowledge about disease prevention, hygiene, and maternal health across several rural communities.
The campaign brings together local health workers, community leaders, and volunteers to deliver educational sessions on sanitation, nutrition, vaccination, and the prevention of communicable diseases. Informational materials were distributed to families, schools, and health centers to ensure that accurate health information reaches those who need it most.
As part of the initiative, the Foundation organized interactive workshops that encouraged community participation and provided practical demonstrations on handwashing, safe water storage, and healthy living practices. Local volunteers were also trained to continue awareness activities after the campaign concludes.
Speaking during the launch, a representative of the Elgoni Foundation emphasized the importance of community engagement in improving public health outcomes.
“Strong communities are built through knowledge, cooperation, and access to reliable health information. This campaign is an important step toward creating healthier and more resilient communities.”
